Kier has announced its appointment to National Highways’ £968m Legacy Concrete Roads Reconstruction (LCRR) framework.
Kier is one of three contractors appointed to the framework, which will run for six years until 2032 through RIS3 and the start of RIS4. The framework enables the delivery of legacy concrete roads reconstruction schemes across the Strategic Road Network (SRN). Legacy concrete roads currently account for approximately 5% of the SRN in England.
The framework scope includes:
• Design and construction services for the demolishment of existing pavements, and reconstruction of pavements
• Design and delivery of associated temporary traffic management solutions
• Performing principal designer and principal contractor duties
• Carbon capture recording and reporting
• Recovering, recycling and reusing arisings during the delivery of a scheme – keeping the programme’s carbon footprint to a minimum and contributing to the circular economy.
