Agenda announced for Automated and Connected Vehicles Research in the North East event

The North East of England is leading the way in the implementation of autonomous mobility both for passengers and logistics. Newcastle University is inviting Highways News readers to attend a half day symposium, hosted by Mobility and Transport NUCoRE (Newcastle University Centre of Research Excellence) on 7 July to hear research presentations from Newcastle University, along with speakers from the supply chain, end users and policy makers on autonomous mobility in the region. 

Speakers include Darren Capes, the DfT’s Head of ITS; Chris Appleby, NEAA and Ross James, Oxa; and Rachel McAndrew, TVCA and Dr Rick Fairchild, Aurrigo, plus a panel discussion that features Liz St Louis, Director of Smart Cities & Enabling Services, Sunderland City Council; Andrew Dorrian, North East Mayoral Combined Authority; Martin Kendal, CEO of Logisteed and Paul Butler, CEO of North East Automotive Alliance.

Presentations start at 12.45pm, with a buffet lunch provided from 12pm, with the event taking place in the Stephenson Building, Newcastle University central campus.
