Cheshire-based fleet connectivity solutions provider Radius is helping accelerate the transition to electric road freight by giving customers access to the Milence charging network, a growing pan-European infrastructure built specifically for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). Designed to support long-haul operations, the network offers purpose-built hubs, high-power charging and strategic placement across key logistics corridors in Europe.

Milence launched its first charging hub in the Netherlands in 2023 and now has 38 hubs operational across Europe, with continued expansion into major logistics regions. The network has been developed to help fleets charge on the go more easily and support a practical, scalable shift to electric freight transport.

Heavy-duty transport remains essential to Europe’s economy, but it also represents one of the biggest opportunities for decarbonisation. As more operators look to electrify their fleets, access to reliable, high-performance charging infrastructure is becoming a critical part of the transition.

Through access to the Milence network, Radius customers can benefit from charging infrastructure designed specifically for trucks, including hubs with the space, accessibility and power required for heavy-duty, long-haul operations. The network also includes ultra-fast charging technology, including MCS, to reduce downtime and help keep vehicles moving efficiently across borders.

Radius customers can also locate nearby charging stations through the Radius e-route app, available on the App Store and Google Play, making it easier to plan routes and manage electric journeys across Europe.

The rollout reflects growing momentum behind the electrification of freight and the need for connected charging corridors that support seamless cross-border transport. With strong EU backing and continued investment, Milence is expanding infrastructure that enables fleets to operate more sustainably while supporting smarter and more efficient movement of goods.

For fleet operators, access to the network offers a number of practical benefits, including more reliable charging availability, greater charging predictability on longer routes on longer routes, and future-ready operations aligned with wider sustainability and decarbonisation goals. As electric adoption scales, fleets may also benefit from lower operating costs over time.

Matt Kirby, Managing Director, EV Division said:

“The transition to electric freight depends on infrastructure that works in the real world for heavy-duty operators. By giving our customers access to the Milence network, we’re helping make long-haul electric transport a more practical and achievable reality across Europe.”
