Small and medium enterprises are being offered the chance to take part in the Intelligent Transport Systems World Congress in October, as Transport for West Midlands again delivers cost-effective exhibition pods on the UK Pavilion.

The Pavilion at the event in Gangneung, Korea this October will showcase UK transport technology SMEs alongside publicity around the UK’s hosting of the 2027 ITS World Congress at Birmingham’s NEC.  The area is shared with the organisers of Birmingham 2027, ERTICO – ITS Europe.

Six pod areas are available for SMEs, giving them extensive branding on the stand and in publicity materials and social media promotion, interview opportunities with industry media and the chance to host an on-stand presentation.  They will also be able to join exclusive events and receptions, make connections and network with peers from across the world, find potential business partners and meet industry experts among the thousands of Congress attendees.

2027 will mark the return to the UK of the flagship global event, 21 years after it was held in London.  The UK-Europe Pavilion in Korea is a partnership between Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), the host region of Birmingham 2027, and ERTICO – ITS Europe, the Congress organiser, with support from the UK Department for Transport’s Transport Technology Forum.

“We’re so proud to give global visitors to Gangneung the opportunity to experience the future of transport with our cutting-edge UK ITS leaders showcasing their innovations,” commented Jordan Cowley, who is leading TfWM’s commercial efforts ahead of Birmingham 2027. “SMEs’ innovations underline why the UK is such a leader in transport technology and why the world needs to be involved in the ITS World Congress Birmingham 2027, otherwise they’ll be missing out.”

The participation follows a blueprint perfected by TfWM and the Local Council Roads Innovation Group, LCRIG, at previous World and European Congresses where SMEs have said being a part of a UK Pavilion raised their profiles, increased their visitor engagement and delivered export possibilities in an affordable way.  The Pavilion will also host a number of networking events during the five days which will be announced later this month.

Under the theme “Connect Ideas. Transform Transport.”, the 2027 ITS World Congress in Birmingham will serve as a unique platform to showcase how intelligent transport systems are transforming mobility worldwide.

“I’m actively looking for businesses to join the ITS World Congress Birmingham 2027,” added Mr Cowley.  “It’s the perfect opportunity to showcase the best of British business on the global stage, demonstrating what makes your business unique whilst engaging with policy makers around the World. It’s a special opportunity and something that only happens once in a generation.  We’re looking for partners, exhibitors and of course, contributors to elevate their brand, display solutions and gain invaluable insights”
