Atkins has been awarded a contract to become Oxfordshire County Council’s capital transport delivery partner for the next four years.

The company and its subsidary, Faithful + Gould will deliver £600m worth of transport projects in a commercial roile alongside project managers, mainly related to the council’s Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) funding. This will include work on the Oxfordshire Housing and Growth Deal, which covers £60m of affordable housing and £150m of funding towards infrastructure improvement across the county.

The HIF, reports Construction News, was awarded last June and includes £218 of work on travel projects in the Didcot area. It is also expected to fund projects such as the widening of the A4130 and a new bridge between Didcot and Culham.
