A55: 16 days of overnight closures to commence on Monday

Overnight closures of the A55 carriageway between Junction 17 Conwy Morfa – Junction 16 Puffin Roundabout at Penmaenbach Tunnel will commence on Monday 8 April, with work set tp continue for over two weeks.

From 8-23 April there will be overnight closure of the A55 westbound carriageway through Penmaenbach tunnel with westbound traffic being batched under control of traffic signals in alternate directions around Penmaenbach headland between 19:00 and 07:00.

On 23 and 24 April there will be overnight closure of A55 Penmaenbach headland eastbound with traffic travelling in contraflow through the westbound tunnel between 19:00 and 07:00.

No diversions are required, however, traffic will be batched under control of traffic signals in alternate directions around Penmaenbach headland and through the Penmaenbach tunnel when the headland is closed.

Abnormal loads over 3.2m wide will have a provision in place for them to park up overnight at the lay-bys after J14 Madryn (eastbound) and adjacent to J23 Llanddulas (westbound).
