Traffic management and highway safety vehicle specialist Blakedale is continuing to expand its national footprint with the opening of a new branch in Glasgow, marking the company’s first permanent presence in Scotland.
The new site, located in Queenslie, just off Junction 10 of the M8 in east Glasgow, strengthens Blakedale’s ability to support customers operating traffic management trucks, LCVs and cars across Scotland and the wider North of the UK with specialist fleet hire and maintenance expert support.
From the Glasgow depot, Blakedale offers a wide range of specialist vehicles and solutions, including Impact Protection Vehicles (IPVs), 3.5t traffic management vehicles, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), arb units, welfare vans and electric traffic management cars and LCVs. The site will also provide fleet consultancy, servicing and repair support, helping customers keep critical assets on the road.
The Glasgow opening builds on Blakedale’s continued investment in expanding its national coverage, following the launch of its Snodland branch in Kent and major facility upgrades at its Chorley headquarters. Together, these sites ensure customers can access specialist vehicles and services closer to where they operate, reducing downtime and improving operational efficiency.
Supported by a nationwide bodybuilder network, Blakedale operates a growing fleet of more than 1,000 vehicles across the UK, and builds approximately 350 specialist vehicle conversions each year in line with customers’ exacting requirements.
The new branch also enhances support for customers across the wider Northgate Group, forming part of the One Road initiative, which brings together Northgate, Blakedale, FridgeXpress and ChargedEV to provide a single point of contact for vehicle hire, fleet management, specialist vehicle builds and electrification services.
Jon Taylor, Managing Director at Blakedale, said:
“Opening our Glasgow branch is a significant milestone for Blakedale as we continue to expand our national coverage. Establishing a permanent presence in Scotland allows us to better support customers operating in the region, with specialist vehicles and expertise whilst also having the capability to work with a whole host of new customers.”
