Campaigners issue video showing LTN bollards being vandalised in Oxford

A group of people living in East Oxford have released a video of vandals setting fire to a Low Traffic Neighbourhood bollard, pulling bollards out of the ground and driving over them.

The Oxford Mail has shared the video which was gathered by Coalition for Healthy Streets and Active Travel (CoHSAT) and Oxfordshire Liveable Streets over a period of less than three weeks this summer.

It showsdrivers destroying the bollard in Howard Street 20 times.

The paper notes Low Traffic Neighbourhoods were introduced in the Divinity Road, St Clement’s and St Mary’s areas of Oxford in May as part of a six-month trial.

The pictures show vans and cars driving over the bollards, one individual ripping one out of the ground and walking off with it and one person setting one alight after 11pm on a Sunday.
