Highway engineering professionals, local authorities, contractors, consultants and project teams from across the UK are being invited to showcase their achievements as entries are now open for the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) Mercia Branch Awards 2027. The awards celebrate the innovation, dedication and outstanding work that is shaping the future of the highways and transportation sector.
Organised by the IHE Mercia Branch, the prestigious black-tie awards evening will take place on Thursday 10 June 2027 at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham.
The biennial awards are open to projects and partnerships implemented between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2026, with entry completely free of charge. From major infrastructure schemes to innovative local initiatives, the awards provide a valuable opportunity for organisations and individuals to gain recognition for the positive impact they are making within their communities and across the highways sector.

Key Dates
The deadline for submissions is Monday 8th February 2027 at 5:00pm. Shortlisted entries will be announced on 19th March 2027, with winners revealed during the awards ceremony in Birmingham on 10th June 2027.
