Entries open for ITS (UK) Awards 2021

Nominations for the five categories in the prestigious ITS (UK) Awards have opened, ahead of an in-person ceremony in November to celebrate the industry’s contribution to our transport network.

There are three categories for projects:

•          UK ITS Project of the Year Award

•          The Inclusive Mobility Award

•          Innovative Use of Technology Award for creativity and forward thinking

The judges are looking for innovative, well developed, sustainable, transferable and inter-operable projects which demonstrate a beneficial impact, leadership and forward thinking. Entrants are urged to detail how success is measured, details of consultation processes, benefits and effectiveness and any references supporting the entry.

In addition, ITS (UK) celebrates people within the industry with two awards:

•          The Rees Hills Annual Award for personal contribution and achievement

•          The Sampson Early Career Professional of the Year Award

Nominations are sought from people who have demonstrated impact and influence within the sector, with the judges looking for examples of experience supplemented by professional accreditations, achievements or publications, along with industry references.

The awards will be presented during the President’s Dinner, hosted by ITS (UK) President Steve Norris, on 25 November at a venue to be confirmed but likely to be near Gatwick Airport to coincide with ITS (UK)’s Members’ Day at Cubic’s HQ in Salfords, Surrey.

Last year’s virtual event featured a surprise for Mr Norris who won the Rees-Hills Award himself.

Entries are open to all ITS (UK) members, with nominations closing on 1 October.  Applicants may include non-ITS (UK) members, but the lead applicant must be a member.  Independent judges are chosen from across the ITS industry.  Entry forms are available on the ITS (UK) website.
