Hyundai partners up on driverless testing in Vegas

The Korean carmaker Hyundai has been cleared to test its fleet of driverless vehicles in Las Vegas – without needing a human safety driver.

NBC 3 News Las Vegas reports that it’s working with technology company Motional to test and assess, before fully driverless testing on closed courses.

It says Karl Iagnemma, the president and CEO of Motional said that Nevada has given the company “permission to remove the driver from our vehicles.”

“Our upcoming driverless milestone is the result of extraordinary innovation from some of the brightest minds in technology, and the product of exceptional care and a relentless commitment to safety,” he added.
