The British real-time roadwork, road incident and event information data company one.network has announced that intelligent transport leaders Scott Belcher and Mark Talbot have joined the firm as consultants.
Scott Belcher leads SFB Consulting, LLC, and prior to his current position, was the CEO of both the Telecommunications Industry Association and of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America). Mark Talbot heads EFTC Advisory Services and most recently served as Group CEO of global ITS solutions and automated enforcement company, Redflex Holdings Inc.
James Harris, who founded one.network and led it to successful agreements with more than 90% of agencies in the country, says the appointments represent the company’s commitment to the American market. “Scott and Mark are incredibly well known and respected in the U.S. transportation and traffic management industries,” he said. “To have people of their caliber and reputation on our team as we accelerate our efforts in the U.S., is very exciting.” one.network entered the U.S. market last year and is already working with transportation agencies on both coasts.
In his new role with one.network, Belcher will advise the company’s leadership team, helping them navigate the complexities and nuances of the American transportation landscape. “This is a dynamic group with a powerful product. Their work zone and road event mapping technology has become the gold standard in the U.K.,” Becher said. “I believe they can replicate that success here in the U.S. and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.” In addition to his business acumen, Belcher has extensive experience working with government. He served as a lawyer to the U.S. House Appropriations Committee and at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and has testified before congress on issues including protecting connected and autonomous vehicle spectrum bandwidth and transit cyber security. He also held leadership positions at the National Academy of Public Administration and other trade associations.
Mark Talbot will advise one.network’s leadership team on American business strategy, and consult on sales and marketing, organisational structure and operational issues. He will also bring his network of industry and agency leaders to the right-of-way management conversation. “With their logic and ingenuity, one.network’s solutions sell themselves,” he said. “I look forward to introducing the company to key people who will recognise their value and potential.” Talbot has more than two and a half decades of executive management experience and at Redflex, he helped develop new traffic management and automated enforcement solutions. He led the company and its 500 employees to global success and ultimately, a major acquisition by ITS giant, Verra Mobility.
