Jacobs wins £65 million highways professional services contract in Worcestershire

Consultant Jacobs has won a £65 million highways professional services contract to support the delivery of highways and transport services for Worcestershire County Council.

Work will include general design services, project management, business case development, planning application support and quality surveying.

It will also be expected to have the capacity to provide ecology and sustainability appraisals for the projects, flooding design, risk assessments and modelling, road safety audits and traffic services, for instance flow surveys and control systems, reports New Civil Engineer.

The contract will last a total of five and a half years but has an option to be extended for another four years.

Jacobs has also seen success in its highways department recently with it being selected by Cork County Council to be its technical advisor for the new M28 motorway in December.
