The ever-popular JCT Traffic Signals Symposium is proving more popular than ever this year, with bookings running at double the rate they were this time last year.
The Symposium, in Nottingham this September, brings together the private and public sector for a series of learned presentations and speeches, an exhibition of the latest signals-related technology, and plenty of networking.
The programme is now full, with 27 papers being presented over the two days, including contributions from 4way Consulting, TRL, Coventry City Council, Transport for London, Transport for Greater Manchester, Pleydell Technology Consulting, Simplifai Systems, Monotch Chris Kennet Consulting, SWARCO, Yunex Traffic and National Highways. The keynote speaker is Government Security Advisor showing the range of malicious threats facing sites and sectors and the vulnerabilities that can be mitigated by forethought and the design and specification of proportionate countermeasures.
30 exhibitors have already been confirmed for the 2024 exhibition. These include three companies making their debut: Orangetek, Sensys Networks and All Traffic Products alongside returning exhibitors AGD Systems, ARTSM, Austar, Coeval, FLIR Systems, Hydro, INRIX, ITS UK, LCRIG, Messagemaker Displays, NAL, NOW Wireless, PTV, RTEM, Simplifai Systems, smartmicro UK, SRL, Starling Technologies, SWARCO, Telent Technology Services, Traffic Group Signals, TRL Software, TRP, VivaCity, Westcotec and Yunex Traffic, along with hosts JCT.
“As years go by, we get better papers being presented and a better exhibition, so we probably shouldn’t be surprised at the spike in interest,” commented JCT Director John Nightingale who runs the event. “However, it’s always heartening to see people as committed to joining us as we are committed to putting on a great event. I would encourage those who want to join us in September to please sign up now, because then they’ll be able to take advantage of our preferential rates for hotel rooms, which will make their attendance even more cost-effective.”
In order to support knowledge sharing among more people, the Symposium is offering 70% off tickets for up to three Early Careers Professionals from any organisation to attend the 2024 Symposium and Exhibition. That means they pay £110 each, a discount of £270 on a full price ticket. Full terms and conditions are available on the JCT Symposium website.
The JCT Traffic Signals Symposium at Nottingham Trent University takes place Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 September, with the first evening social event and the MOVA User Group taking place the day before. The Wednesday evening involves the SWARCO Drinks Reception and must-attend Yunex Traffic Gala Dinner.
