Construction specialists Keltbray has won its first major contract in the highways sector-a £14.1 million for 14 bridge structures as part of the upgrade of the A30 in Cornwall.
The project involves identifying and constructing bridge elements to assure greater quality and ‘buildability’ within the overall schedule, using modern methods of construction, according to Building magazine.
The upgrade, which also includes contractors Costain and Jacobs, will see 14km of dual carriageway being built between Chiverton Cross and Carland Cross in Cornwall.
Darren James, Chief Executive of Keltbray said: “This project marks an important milestone in the delivery of our core strategy to redefine the way sustainable development is delivered, where we forsee strong demand for Keltbray’s integrated capabilities in adjacent infrastruture sectors like highways.”
