Kirklees Council is preparing to advertise four opportunities within its Urban Traffic Management & Control (UTMC) team, offering prospective candidates an early insight into the roles ahead of the vacancies going live.
The West Yorkshire authorit’s UTMC team is involved in a wide range of work across the borough, including traffic signals, ITS, network management, CCTV, communications infrastructure and the delivery of major transport projects.
With significant investment in Kirklees’ highway and transport networks, the council says it is an exciting time to join the service, with opportunities to contribute to how people travel around the borough.
The upcoming recruitment drive will include one UTMC Technical Officer, two UTMC Engineers and one UTMC Senior Engineer.
Kirklees Council offers hybrid working, flexi-time and flexible working arrangements, alongside a supportive team environment. Employees also have access to ongoing training and career development, an excellent pension scheme and family-friendly policies.
The vacancies will be of interest to professionals working in traffic signals, intelligent transport systems, highways technology and transport engineering.
The council is encouraging anyone interested in the opportunities to look out for the job adverts over the coming weeks. Those seeking an informal discussion about the roles and the work of the UTMC team are also invited to get in touch.
