National Highways are warning drivers of changes to closures on the A46 Leicestershire between Six Hills and Widmerpool due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
Work planned for this week will now take place from 1 July, with the northbound carriageway closed between 20:00 BST and 06:00 until 5 July, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS).
According to the BBC a spokesman said the change was necessary as the A46 is being used as a diversion during Leicestershire County Council road resurfacing work.
Work on that stretch of the A46 started in September last year, and is expected to finish in August, at a cost of £16m.
Apologising on its website for the disruption, National Highways said: “All closures are subject to change at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances or poor weather conditions.”
