Menai Suspension Bridge fully reopens after bolts issue

The Menai Suspension Bridge has fully reopened to two-way traffic following the completion of temporary works to address an issue in a number of bolts on the bridge.

The bridge, which links the island of Anglesey to mainland Wales was shut after investigations discovered bolts on beams under the bridge needed replacing.

The reopening coincides with the Menai Bridge fair, allowing traffic to travel to and from Anglesey on both the this bridge and Britannia Bridge during this popular event.

Work on a permanent solution to this issue will take place in the coming weeks to facilitate Phase 2 works.

Inspections of the temporary works will take place every Wednesday.
