The new MK Smart City Experience Centre has opened in Milton Keynes, showcasing the latest cutting-edge smart city technology.
The Smart City Consultancy opened the centre in the city’s iconic Centre MK shopping mall, showcasing to the public some of the most innovative projects currently being undertaken in Milton Keynes, offering a glimpse into the future of urban living through smart technologies.
This includes the Ohmio Connected Autonomous Vehicles which underpins the StreetCAV project, trialling an autonomous shuttle service between Milton Keynes Station and Centre:MK which should be taking members of the public from early in the New Year.
The centre also highlights the technology around drones for road inspection and medicine delivery and
robots used for home delivery and other practical applications to support urban living.
Ohmio’s Chief Executive, Dean Zabrieszach talked about the Ohmio technology, and another project at Birmingham’s NEC, on a Highways Voices from Highways UK (15m41s in), while UK director Ian Pulford took presenter Paul Hutton for a trip around the Innovation and Learning Festival here (26m20s in).
