New study details ways of cutting fare collection by 73%

Bus operators are being told how they can reduce the cost of fare collection by 73%, immediately increasing revenues for their operations.

A new white paper from consultants, Consult Hyperion used real-world data from five recently procured Design-Build fare collection solutions from large, medium and small cities across North America and modelled the cost savings available to those agencies if the same systems had been purchased using a Shared Platform.

Key learnings from the paper include:

  • Analysis: significant fare collection cost savings are available to agencies of ALL sizes (42%-73%).
  • Explained: the differences between bespoke AFC systems vs Shared Platforms (as-a-Service).
  • Revealed: how platform solutions deliver constant updates and innovations without expensive change orders
  • Benefits: how your organization can benefit from Open APIs and existing integrations.

You can read a summary blog on the white paper here.
