Parking solutions provider WPS launches new ‘open and adaptive’ platform

Parking solutions provider WPS has brought radical new thinking to the parking sector by developing a more sustainable approach that removes the need of additional proprietary equipment to deliver an efficient service.

WPS has developed the new platform that brings together existing and new equipment, both its own and third party, software applications and operator services to deliver a seamless parking solution, to help solve various challenged faced by businesses who rely on efficient parking to help increase customer satisfaction.

With this more open and adaptive approach, it is removing the need to replace perfectly functioning proprietary equipment, whilst continuously improving both the parking and operator experience.

The new platform is supported by a broad partner marketplace and offers a flexible, scalable and more economical approach to parking management.

Up until now, the only way to remove complexity and increase customer experience was to dispose of the existing parking solution all together, and invest in a new, proprietary parking solution.

But, this has now changed.

WPS’ new approach makes better use of the ‘cloud’, extending the  lifecycle of your current hardware, add or remove equipment to your parking operation, based on your customer’s wishes and improve the operator-experience, delivering a smarter, more convenient solution to complex journeys.

The scalable platform makes use of an approved partner marketplace delivering a wide range of software applications and operator services to help deliver specific customer journeys.

The platform also enables innovative ways to deliver current complex journeys in a smarter way e.g., allowing hotel owners to print the parking ticket on receipts or use the existing CCTV camera feed for license plate recognition. Or even deliver a new parking experience through connecting e.g., lighting installations.

Speaking about the launch of the new platform which took place on day one at Intertraffic in Amsterdam, Jesse Heitlager, Technology Director, WPS Parking said: “At WPS, we were focused on creating a seamless parking platform that provides partners, operators and the end user with an efficient and effective service. We want to create one that reflects the changing demands and needs of what is required as we travel in different ways compared to before as well as to meet advancements in mobility solutions that help create better places to live, work and travel. Efficient and sustainable parking is a vital part of that.

“Management of parking spaces is becoming more and more complex for a variety of different reasons. But WPS is working with its partners to simplify that process developing a product innovation that is also a system innovation rethinking the current paradigm in parking.”
