P&D appoints Chellan to provide remote-monitoring

P&D Specialist Services, provider of CCTV and highway safety solutions in the UK, has appointed Chellan Ltd to provide remote-monitoring services from its CCTV units, situated on the Prince of Wales Bridge on the M4.

Working on behalf of Quantum Traffic Management, P&D currently provides its high-quality and resilient CCTV unit to monitor highway resurfacing works on the bridge. With over 20 years’ experience in the Highways sector, Chellan Ltd have been working alongside some of the largest Civil Engineering companies on major highway project schemes Nationwide.

It is the only company in the UK to specialise in providing Highway CCTV Operators to Temporary Control Rooms Nationwide. The main benefit of remote monitoring is that extra staff do not have to be specifically trained for each remote project undertaken.

All staff are managed in-house by Chellan, which means any problems can be addressed immediately, This is not only much more cost-effective for the client but there are also no lone-worker challenges associated with on-site monitoring as well as the fact that any on-site staff can access the feeds at any time.

Paul Wilson, Managing Director of P&D Specialist Services said: “The combination of a quick response and collaboration meant we could meet our client’s requirements and solve a problem for them in a very short space of time. Not only is the remote-monitoring cost effective for the client, there are no lone-worker issues associated with on-site monitoring, as well as the fact anyone on-site can access these feeds at any time.”

Wayne Nelthorpe, Managing Director of Chellan Ltd, added: “We are delighted to be working with P&D Specialist Services, one of the country’s premier providers of CCTV and road safety solutions in the UK. This collaboration solved a real-time challenge for P&D’s client which has provided them with the safety and security of effective monitoring 24 hours a day, seven days a week of their site.”
