National Highways has announced that the planned overnight closure of the A52 in Nottingham while roadworks take place has been shelved.

Only last week the agency said Derby Road would be closed between the Priory and Queen’s Medical Centre roundabouts from 20:00 to 00:00 BST from Monday until 10 October while work was carried out, according to the BBC.

However, it has now confirmed only lane closures will be in place on Priory roundabout from 20:00 to 06:00 after part of the project was rescheduled.

Work to improve the A52 is due to be completed in spring next year.
