Procurement process in Scotland starts for Northern regions

The Scottish Government has started the procurement process for the North West and North East contracts on its network worth around £900m and £530m respectively over 12-year terms.

Firms will be limited to running a maximum of two regions in Scotland, under Scottish Minister procurement rules. Currently, BEAR Scotland holds two northern regions, meaning at least one region will be operated by a new contractor.

The tranche 2 Scottish Trunk Road Network deals follow the award of the south west network to Amey and the south east to Bear alliance – Eurovia, Jacobs and Breedon a few months ago.

Interested contractors have until the end of October to compete pre-qualification documents. They can find further information here;  North West and here North East.
