Transport modelling company PTV Group and Dynamic Map Platform (DMP) have officially announced a strategic collaboration at the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.
The agreement was formalised with the signing of a memorandum of understanding by DMP CEO Shuichi Yoshimura and Steve Perone, Managing Director of PTV America, marking a significant milestone in advancing simulation technology for the automotive and traffic engineering sectors.
DMP provides high-precision 3D mapping solutions, with its advanced map data supporting various industries, including autonomous vehicle development and infrastructure planning. The partnership between PTV Group and DMP aims to push the boundaries of simulation technology and its practical applications, particularly within the automotive sector and traffic engineering.
By combining DMP’s High-Precision 3D Map data (HD map) with PTV Vissim, the two companies plan to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of simulation models. The collaboration will enable the introduction of PTV Model2Go for PTV Vissim—automated PTV Vissim and OpenDrive networks covering a broad geographic range. These maps will be available for immediate use in traffic engineering projects and virtual test drives within the automotive industry.
Shuichi Yoshimura, DMP’s President and CEO, stated, ” PTV is a global provider of simulation software. By providing HD maps to PTV and PTV users around the world, it is possible to replicate a road network that is as close to reality as possible on a global scale. Through this partnership, we look forward to significant innovation in the automotive and transportation industries.”
Steve Perone, Managing Director of PTV America, commented: “Precise data is essential for creating realistic simulations. DMP’s High-Precision 3D Map data will allow us to deliver Model2Go for PTV Vissim networks – out of the box and in just a few days, unlocking a wealth of opportunities for both the automotive industry and traffic engineering.”
