Simplifai CEO calls for the North to lead the UK by embracing connected technology

AI-based Intelligent Transport Systems expert Keith McCabe has suggested turning the north as an “exemplar” to deliver connected technology on a large scale.

The Simplifai Systems CEO told the Transport Technology Forum Conference in Leeds that transport involves working with huge generators of traffic such as the health service and local authorities along with car companies to bring solutions to the challenges together.

He used his presentation at the conference to launch an initiative to “connect the north” to identify the gaps and overcome barriers to implementation of ITS solutions to address regional disparities, improve health impacts of transport, and reschedule health and education and improve interaction.

“Why can’t be make the north of England the exemplar of connected technology, why can’t we have every traffic signal transmitted into every vehicle to improve emissions?,” he asked.  “We can do this, and when we start talking about business models and ways of working, let’s look at how we fund this to take not just a small AI research company like ours, but to take forward the North of England as an exemplar and something to then take across the country.”

Mr McCabe is calling on industry colleagues to get involved by contacting him at enquires@simplifaisystems.com.
