Global traffic radar sensors and solutions company smartmicro has introduced a new all-in-one In-Cabin Radar, covering the entire vehicle interior with a single sensor.

It says this revolutionises safety applications including child presence detection, intrusion detection, seat belt reminders and health monitoring.

The in-cabin 60-64 GHz radar, featuring a single board and single chip design has a 130-degree field of view with a 4D/HD high-speed modulation.

The technology is mounted behind the vehicle’s ceiling and can detect subtle movements like heartbeat and breathing throughout the entire cabin, providing real-time data for interior environment visualisation.
