Four contractors have been chosen by Somerset County Council to provide major works to highways structures across the county over the next four years.
Centre Great, Dyer & Butler, Walters and R&W Civil Engineering will all cover work that includes; bridge waterproofing, masonry bridge and retaining wall repairs, structural concrete repairs, minor parapet repairs, urgent traffic management, cyclic maintenance and carriageway and footway resurfacing.
The estimated annual spend through the framework is expected to be in the region of £2-£3 million with an overall framework agreement limit of £15 million, according to the council.
Other work will include retaining wall reconstruction, geotechnical engineering and earth retaining structures as well as footbridge refurbishment and drainage works.
