Highways England has appointed Stantec to its Commercial and Project Management Services (CPMS) Framework to deliver long-term improvements to England’s motorways and major roads.
The CPMS Framework has been established so Highways England can call on the resource and expertise it needs to advance England’s roads over the next six years in line with the Roads Investment Strategy (RIS2).
RIS2 defines the development needed to ensure the road network is safe, reliable, and efficient and Highways England is responsible for executing this strategy, delivering the enhancement schemes and meeting the performance standards outlined in RIS2. The CPMS Framework brings together the team that Highways England will rely on to help them meet these standards and improve the roads England depends upon to keep people and goods moving.
Dougie McDonald, Stantec’s UK Director for Transport said, “Stantec will draw on expertise from across our business to provide an exceptional level of professional support to Highways England. England has one of the busiest road networks in Europe and it plays a vital role in our economic and social progress. Stantec is proud to support the improvement of connections between people and places by keeping our roads running safely and efficiently and creating opportunities for businesses and communities up and down the country. Digital innovation and technology will play a major role in the work that needs to be done and we are excited to be able to use our extensive experience and capabilities to assist Highways England.”
Stantec’s team will provide a variety of project and programme management related services including NEC project management and contract management services, project controls, project scheduling and project technology systems, and risk management services.
Stantec has played a role in several important transport schemes, most recently being appointed Design Services Partner by Midlands Expressway Ltd (MEL) to lead a transformational programme to refurbish the existing tolling system deployed on the M6toll. In June 2020, Stantec was appointed alongside Costain to the Highways England Specialist Professional and Technical Services (SPaTS2) Framework to provide road transport-related technical consultancy, engineering advice, and research and innovation services.
