Teletrac Navman has been awarded a contract to provide market-leading fleet safety and tracking services to independent ambulance provider Spark UK Medical and Mersey Medical Services Limited.
Spark UK Medical and Mersey Medical are a private ambulance operator, providing front-line ambulances, emergency and non-emergency and event medical solutions nationwide, as well as global repatriation services.
The significant investment and a move towards smarter operations will see Spark UK Medical and Mersey Medical’s full fleet of more than 140 vehicles fitted with Teletrac Navman’s next-generation telematics interface – TN360, along with Smart Artificial intelligence (AI) Cameras and Driver ID solutions. The rollout is part of a continued drive for minimising risk and improving driver standards.
Teletrac Navman’s TN360 brings together connected vehicle data, analytics, reporting and safety features into a single interface, giving fleet operators a real-time view of their operations through a single pane of glass. For Spark Medical and Mersey Medical Services Limited, the platform will provide access to operational insights that support fleet management, helping to simplify data analysis and inform day-to-day decision-making.
The Smart AI cameras provide in-cab feedback to both companies’ drivers in real time, as well as work as personalised coaching tools, reinforcing safety and compliance – both vital to the business’ operation. The AI model analyses footage in real time, sending drivers notes on both positive habits, as well as areas to improve on, helping ensure everyone is driving at their best and pushing to a self-manage model of coaching, saving fleet managers from having to intervene.
Working in tandem with the cameras, TN360 will take in wider data on driver behaviours such as harsh braking, speeding and distracted driving to name a few, sharing reports with managers and contributing to drivers’ overall scorecards.
Dave Large, Director of Governance & Contracts of Spark UK Medical & Mersey Medical, said: “Safety has always been our number one priority – we often transport vulnerable people in high-pressure situations. Working in a highly regulated field, dash cameras are not new to us – but this is a major upgrade to our fleet and operations. Teletrac Navman’s TN360 dashboard and the insight the AI cameras provide will help launch our operations forward, simplifying driver coaching without compromising on the results, and support drivers in the right way where there may be room for improvement.”
