ULEZ cameras “vandalised” in London

It’s reported several new cameras installed to enforce London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone have been vandalised in an apparent backlash against the expansion of the zone to the whole of London.

The Telegraph says four cameras in Abbey Wood, Greenwich appear to have had their wires cut.

Meanwhile a number of images emerging across social media and TfL’s Streetcare webpage.

One image shows a camera in west Sutton which has also had its wire cut, while it says a post on TfL’s Streetcare site shows a camera in Catford, Lewisham which has had its lens painted black to obscure its view, although Highways News has not been able to verify this.

It says other images show a camera ripped from its perch.
