Contractors Galliford Try Construction, Keltbray Highways and Colas are among 15 companies appointed to a £355m YORcivil3 South and West Area Contractors Framework Agreement, managed by Sheffield City Council.

This is for construction works to serve public bodies and third-sector organisations primarily in Yorkshire & the Humber.

The other successful contractors are Applebridge Construction, Breheny Civil Engineering, Britcon UK, CR Reynolds, Eric Wright Civil Engineering, Esh Construction, Eurovia Infrastructure, Jackson Civil Engineering Group, JN Bentley, Octavius Infrastructure, P Casey and PBS Construction.

Work involved under the framework are mainly civil engineering works, bridges and structure works, highway surfacing works, flood alleviation works and coastal works. Some building works and contractor design may also be included.

The framework replaces the original YORcivil2 South and West Area Contractors Framework, according to Construction News.

The framework has an option to extend for a further two years to allow the appointed contractors time to recoup their initial investment in establishing processes and procedures that will deliver the improvements sought by clients.

These include economic regeneration, carbon and waste reduction, training and employment initiatives, training of staff to new ways of working, BIM, the Construction Playbook and Construction Innovation Hub Value Toolkit.
