Engineering and project management services company AtkinsRéalis has been appointed as the sole provider of professional engineering services for Herefordshire Council, delivering multidisciplinary expertise across highways and infrastructure projects.
Under the agreement AtkinsRéalis will provide a comprehensive range of services including highway and active travel design, bridge inspections, flood modelling, and environmental and heritage assessments. The scope also encompasses project management, transport planning, and consultancy support for major infrastructure schemes.
The company says the five year contract will draw widely on capabilities from across its business as part of its integrated end-to-end service, “cementing its position as a trusted partner working alongside Herefordshire Council”.

The company adds that contract was won following a competitive bid “where AtkinsRéalis’ commitment to deliver efficiencies and continuous improvement was central to the win, as well as demonstrating strong social value credentials, including commitments to local employment, apprenticeships, and community engagement”.
The contract will be delivered by teams based in the region and builds on similarhighways and infrastructure alliances and partnerships with local authorities including Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey councils.
