Solar Gates to partner Berlex to modernise UK traffic signal systems

Solar Gates has become an exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for Berlex’s intelligent portable traffic signal system. The TOPAS-registered R6+ signals include the Swedish company’s cloud-based platform ‘BerlexConnect’ which allows users to easily monitor, track and control the portable traffic signal system via an app or computer.

The collaboration brings together two innovation-fuelled companies dedicated to the digital transformation of road safety.

Adding the R6+ portable traffic signal to its existing arsenal of road safety equipment and solar-powered solutions, Solar Gates’ Commercial Director Anna Blake said:

“The agreement means traffic management companies throughout Britain now have a smarter ‘portable’ solution for a wide variety of applications. The R6+ is the first fully cloud-based portable systems of its kind. It removes the need for on-site adjustments as everything is done through the app.

“It’s a game changer, in other words. This agreement is an exciting leap forward for Solar Gates and one that makes total sense. Berlex have a laser-sharp focus on innovation and using the latest technology to make road users and traffic management teams safer. That chimes with our determination to always find the best and easiest to use solution for customers.”

Peter Hammarström, Business Director at Berlex, revealed that the partnership was founded on a mutual commitment to excellence. He said:

“We have been determined to further bring R6+ to a UK audience and Solar Gates are perfectly placed to make that happen. We are delighted to partner with SG as their solar technology and industry knowhow will help ensure that our products are reaching a wider audience within this region”

Christopher Long, Operations Director at Solar Gates, added:

“Alongside supplying the R6+ system, Solar Gates will provide UK-based service, support and technical expertise, ensuring customers have the local backup they need to keep their traffic light systems running reliably on site.”
