Suzy Charman and Steve Elderkin get OBEs in King’s Birthday Honours

The Executive Director for the Road Safety Foundation Dr Suzy Charman and Director of Environmental Sustainability for National Highways, Steve Elderkin, have both been recognised with OBEs in the King’s Birthday Honours List.

Dr Charman was recognised for services to road safety, while Mr Elderkin was awarded his for services to the Environment and to Transport.

Others from the transport sector awarded included:

  • Christopher Cheek, Founder, The Bus Industry Monitor, for services to Public Transport
  • Sgt Kyle Gordon, from British Transport Police, for services to Transport Policing
  • Paul Seddon, Strategic Director of Planning and Transport at Nottingham City Council for services to Town Planning
  • Susan Sharp, Interim Chair, Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee for services to Accessibility in Transport
  • Jennifer Swain, Managing Director, Road to Logistics, for services to Transport Logistics

They all received MBEs, while Charlotte Bradford, Road Safety Policy Advisor at the Department for Transport received a BEM for services to Road Safety.
