New restrictions for traffic using the A417 have been revealed, with the changes coming into force this week.

National Highways says the road at the centre of a £470 million Missing Link project will be closed in both directions between the A46 Brockworth junction and the Shab Hill junction, with overnight closures over the three-mile stretch taking place until Friday 16 October.

The A417 will also be closed overnight in both directions between Shab Hill junction and A429 Burford Road, the closures beginning at 9pm to 6am and running until this Friday (9 October).

Furthermore, weekend road closures will be in place here from 11pm this Friday up to 6am and running until Monday 12 October.

This 10-mile closure will extend along the link road to Cirencester, with a lengthy diversion route of 21 miles in place, the route taking drivers off the A417 at the Ullenwood Junction and sending them along the A436 and A40 to the junction near Northleach, thereafter down the A429 Stow Road to the other end of the closure, at Burford Road.
