“Please go to Highways UK this year” is the message from National Highways Chair Gareth Rhys Williams, who has urged the sector to attend next week’s event in Birmingham.

Highways UK returns to the NEC on 14 and 15 October, with organisers expecting more than 10,000 attendees, over 250 speakers across seven stages and more than 350 global exhibitors.

Listen to exclusive content from Highways UK on our special Highways Voices podcasts from the event sponsored by AGD Systems, Arcadis, Nicander, SWARCO and Westcotec.

Minister for Roads Justin Madders MP will deliver his first ministerial address to the industry at Highways UK. His appearance forms part of a programme bringing together the people responsible for planning, developing, managing and maintaining the country’s roads.

Encouraging colleagues across the sector to attend, Mr Rhys Williams said: “If you were in any doubt at all, please go to Highways UK this year. It was a fantastic event last year, a real celebration of what the industry does for the country, the way we work together, innovate, drive safety, and drive efficiency.”

The conference and exhibition will give highways professionals the opportunity to hear from industry leaders, meet suppliers and discuss the challenges facing the transport network. The programme covers issues including strategic and local roads, digital technology, network resilience and sustainability.

Organisers are encouraging those planning to attend to register ahead of the event. Free visitor passes are available through the website.
