AECOM wins place on TfGM’s Professional Services framework

AECOM has announced it has won a place on Transport for Greater Manchester’s (TfGM’s) Transport Professional Services (TPS) framework.

The four-year framework will be used by TfGM and the ten local authorities in Greater Manchester to deliver transport projects and programmes across the region. Projects delivered through the framework will support Greater Manchester’s Right Mix Vision for 50 percent of all journeys to be made by walking, cycling and public transport by 2040 and its ambition to be net zero by 2038.

AECOM has won places on 14 lots, including strategic and specialist sub-lots, which cover a wide range of transport consultancy services across all transport modes. AECOM’s lots include multidisciplinary design and engineering, transport policy and strategy, research and consultation and environmental and sustainability services across rail, highways, intelligent transport systems and public transport.

Stephen Gleave, Cities Lead for Manchester, AECOM, said: “Transport remains the backbone of economic strength and this important new framework is vital in supporting Greater Manchester’s ambitious growth plans, as well as helping the region achieve its net zero 2038 ambition. AECOM’s latest appointment builds on our long-standing relationship with TfGM and enables us to bring our full breadth of professional services to support the continued improvement of Greater Manchester’s transport network for its residents, businesses and visitors.”

The new framework replaces TfGM’s previous TPS framework, which came to an end in March 2021. AECOM also held a position on the preceding framework and the new contract will continue to be led by its team in Manchester. The company will also draw on the specialist expertise of a number of sub-consultants and local suppliers to help drive its social value approach to delivery.

AECOM are joined by other consultants on the framework, including Arcadis, Turner & Townsend, WSP and Mott MacDonald.
