Each brings a wealth of experience and innovative thinking to the partnership, and we look forward to working together to deliver the key priorities for the Welsh Ministers as outlined in the Llwybr Newydd: the Wales Transport Strategy 2021.
A key focus of the contract and our work moving forward will be to assist in providing a strategic road network in Wales that is sustainable, meeting the existing needs of the road users whilst protecting the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Working with our new partners on the framework we will explore future infrastructure improvements that reduce carbon emissions by improving service life, speed of construction and maintenance and reducing environmental impact. Using the experience of our partners we will continue to investigate opportunities to support projects that benefit active travel provision in South Wales”.
Alex Gilbert, Managing Director, Amey Consulting said: “We are delighted to have been awarded a place on the SWTRA Consultancy Services Framework. The largest framework of its kind in Wales. Our ambition is to support the Welsh Government in designing a safe, efficient, and sustainable trunk road and active travel network, fully aligned with the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.”
