Amey signs consultancy services contract with Department for Infrastructure

Infrastructure services and engineering company Amey has been awarded a new £35m contract with the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) Transport and Road Asset Management (TRAM), the authority responsible for Northern Ireland’s transport network, to deliver a wide range of civil engineering consultancy services.

The TRAM engineering services consultancy contract will deliver major and minor highway improvements, active travel schemes, and more sustainable transport infrastructure across the region.

Running for three years, with an option to extend for another two, the contract will see Amey deliver a range of civil engineering consultancy services and associated specialist services. This includes project scoping, feasibility assessments, conducting and implementing preliminary designs, procurement assessments, and site supervision. Additionally, Amey will also support the DfI in providing best value alternatives to traditional professional service procurement on a project-by-project basis as well as sharing and promoting best practice procedures and systems for projects.

Alex Gilbert, Managing Director for Amey, said: “We’re proud to continue our longstanding partnership with the Department for Infrastructure (DfI). This new contract for Transport and Road Asset Management (TRAM) consultancy services builds on nearly two decades of collaboration and highlights our shared commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable transport solutions. Together, we aim to enhance connectivity, support economic prosperity, and improve the everyday lives of communities across Northern Ireland.”

Amey says this latest contract award builds on its longstanding partnership with the DfI which dates back to 2005. It also follows a successful period of contract wins with the government department, with Amey also recently securing a £30m contract to deliver water and engineering services across Northern Ireland.
