Traffic management technology and line marking company SWARCO has announced it’s deepening its business relations with the Australian road marking specialist Supalux
The partnership includes SWARCO getting its first own base there, on the major industrial precinct of Western Australia’s Capital city, Perth.
In a transaction closed in early May 2021 between Supalux Managing Director Jonathan Vyse and SWARCO Speaker of the Board and COO Michael Schuch and CFO Günther Kitzmüller, SWARCO and Supalux have formed a partnership to further strengthen their road marking systems business together in Australia. The parties agreed to not disclose the terms of the transaction.
Michael Schuch is excited about the partnership and the resulting opportunities, saying, ˝With this investment we want to confirm the potential we see in Supalux as well as underline our commitment to the Australian market. I am pleased that the Vyse family feels comfortable with SWARCO. We welcome the Supalux team within the SWARCO Family and look forward to jointly expanding our road marking systems business in Australia.˝
Over the past five years, Supalux, a major producer of road marking materials and a leading contractor in road marking services, has developed into a significant user and producer of SWARCO high performance road marking systems, giving a boost to the performance of road markings, ultimately contributing to improved road safety in Australia.
Supalux’s John Vyse, who founded the company’s core competency in the road marking business, comments the new partnership as an important step in the future-proof development of his work of life. ˝My son Jonathan and I are happy in joining with the Austrian family-owned traffic technology group SWARCO. It is good to see that we have an overlapping set of values with significant synergy in our partnership. I am certain that SWARCO will bring significant technological development to the Australian Traffic Technology market now and in the years to come. Our entrepreneurship, our spirit, our appreciation for the workforce who is the basis of our success, and the valuation of our history can be found in the same way in SWARCO˝, says John.
Harald Mosböck, SWARCO’s Road Marking Systems Vice President for Europe & APMEA, has been involved in the business relationship with Supalux right from the beginning. ˝I am convinced that Supalux will benefit from SWARCO’s three-fold know-how in the manufacture of glass beads and road marking materials and their professional application. The R&D progress made at our Center of Competence for Glass Technology and Road Marking Systems in Austria will also be shared with Supalux and introduce further positive impulses.“
˝We count on the entrepreneurial spirit and mentality of both our family businesses to strengthen our market position, make technological advances and further improve the safety on Australian roads˝, conclude Michael Schuch and Harald Mosböck in unison.
