Capita wins contract extension for TfL congestion charge project

Capita has announced that it has secured a £355 million extension to its contract with Transport for (TfL) to continue to manage London’s congestion charge, low and ultra-low emission zones.

The company said the contract includes both an extension to its existing work–from October 2021 to October 2026–and new work expanding the low and ultra-low emission zones and direct vision standards, set to last until October 2026.

Capita said that the updated contract will expand its scope, with the company delivering further services for TfL. It added that it expects to recruit and train an extra 900 new staff, many of whom will be able to work from home.
