CPD Technical Training Sessions agenda announced for 2026 LCRIG Innovation & Learning Festival

The full agenda has been released for the CPD-accredited Technical Training Sessions, taking place at the LCRIG Innovation & Learning Festival 2026, on 24 and 25 June 2026 to the NAEC Stoneleigh.

Accredited by the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) and hosted in a dedicated Technical Learning Theatre, these sessions offer public and private sector professionals the chance to gain valuable CPD points while hearing from experts across the highways and road infrastructure technology sector.

The short, impactful presentations will focus on the latest challenges, technologies, and strategies being adopted across the sector, providing practical learning and inspiring new thinking.

Key Themes for 2026

The agenda explores a comprehensive range of topics shaping the future of highways, including:

Smart Infrastructure and Asset Management – Focusing on intelligent and condition-driven maintenance, PAS-compliant road condition data, and innovative approaches to managing assets, defects, and reinstatements to improve performance and longevity.

Sustainable Materials and Future Mobility – Addressing low-carbon road surfacing, asphalt rejuvenation, in-situ recycling, and the use of carbon-negative and circular materials to reduce environmental impact.

Advanced Materials Innovation – Highlighting innovations such as geosynthetics, screed patching, and next-generation aggregates that enhance durability, efficiency, and whole-life cost performance.

Collaboration and Strategic Delivery – Exploring how connected data ecosystems, transport funding approaches, and cross-sector collaboration are enabling more integrated, efficient, and future-ready transport networks.

Data, AI and Digital Innovation – Examining how connected vehicle data, predictive and agentic AI, high-definition datasets, and advanced modelling are transforming route risk analysis, transport planning, and operational decision-making.

Emerging Technologies and Future Mobility – Exploring mobile mapping, drone applications, next-generation traffic signal systems, cross-pavement charging, active travel solutions, and evolving road marking technologies shaping the future of road infrastructure.

Public and Private Sector Collaboration – Showcasing case studies of successful partnerships between local authorities and the supply chain, and how collaborative working is unlocking innovation, efficiencies, and better outcomes.

Each 15-minute session is CPD-accredited and open to all registered delegates. The full list of session titles and presenting organisations is now live.

With more than 800 delegates expected, including representatives from over 90 local authorities, the Department for Transport, National Highways, and leading organisations across the supply chain, the festival continues to be a flagship event in the UK highways calendar.

Attendees will have the opportunity to gain CPD points, hear directly from industry experts, and take away practical insights that can be applied within their own organisations.

Fully Funded Places Available

Fully funded places are available for public sector delegates, covering accommodation, transport between the hotel and venue, meals, and full access to all sessions and networking opportunities, at no cost to their organisation.

Professionals across the highways and transport sector are encouraged to secure their place and explore the full agenda.
