Mabey Hire has announced its new Corporate Membership with the Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG), reaffirming its commitment to fostering collaboration with local authorities and contributing to building smarter, more sustainable infrastructure.
The Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) is a growing community of over 350 members, consisting of government, local authorities, national organisations and supply chain. Its mission is centred around collaboration, innovation, skills and a dedicated commitment to decarbonisation in the highways sector.
As a new Corporate Member, Mabey Hire is bringing its 60 years of temporary works expertise and experience in both reactive and planned civil engineering projects – including highways and bridges – to the association.
Meeting LCRIG’s mission for innovation and skills, Mabey Hire is committed to pushing industry and technological advancements. With the capability to work to BIM Level 2 standards, its dedicated digital engineering team regularly uses the latest technologies to enhance the design process, while the EVE immersive design software helps bring projects to life. Most recently, Mabey Hire introduced embodied carbon calculations on all its quotes as standard, marking a step forward for
sustainable construction.
Mabey Hire’s full-service offering satisfies a project’s temporary works requirements from engineered design through to equipment supply and site installation, while its live monitoring solutions support the highways sector with preventative and proactive maintenance. Providing detailed insight into a structure’s condition, monitoring can aid more informed decision making and data-driven maintenance schedules.
Speaking about the decision to join, John Wrigley, BDM – Highways & Rail at Mabey Hire said: “We’re delighted to now be members of LCRIG. With local roads making up around 98% of the nation’s network by length, it’s critical to get things right at this level.
“It’s our hope that by connecting with local authority representatives and fellow members at regional meetings and seminars,
we’ll be able to share and exchange insights and best practice examples. As well as helping to further enhance our service offering, this knowledge gained will also allow us to stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring we’re providing local authorities with the tools and equipment they need to deliver the low carbon infrastructure projects of the future.”
Keely Metcalfe, Relationship Manager at LCRIG, added: “We are delighted to welcome Mabey Hire to the LCRIG community. Their technical expertise and commitment to innovation and decarbonisation align closely with our mission, and we look forward to seeing the positive contribution they’ll bring to our growing community.”
