Gaist announce Scotland investment

Gaist has announced the appointment of John Swift to head up their most recent business expansion in Scotland. This is the first stage of direct investment providing support to the Scottish marketplace, building on recent successes whilst capitalising on increased demand as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Having started his career in the British Army as an Electronics Engineer, Mr Swift has 27 years’ experience providing technology solutions to the Public Sector at Local and Central Government levels in Scotland. He has more recently been involved in delivering innovative technology solutions for IT departments and aiding the deployment of ground-breaking solutions in the Highways arena, many of which are still providing benefits to the sector. This involved engaging with highways authorities and working collaboratively with supply chain partners extensively across the UK and Internationally in road issues and solutions, always from his base in Glasgow.

Most recently Mr Swift has been heavily involved in solutions around asset management for highways whilst becoming formally certified with the Institute of Asset Management and has performed key roles in market development of AI-related solutions for the highways Sector.

Mr Swift said: “I am delighted to be working with not just exciting technology that provides value in a time where various demands and changes are being thrust upon clients but also delighted to have this opportunity to be part of a talented team with the sole focus of driving and supporting the development of outcome led data and asset management safety.

“I believe that clients, when experiencing demands and changes, need good technology and a good team in front of them working together at all times. That is what excites me about the opportunity to further develop business for the Scottish marketplace having both those tools in the box.”

Commenting on the new appointment, Steve Cobb, Head of Business Development said:  “We are delighted to have John on board, he brings a wealth of experience and many years of involvement with the highways industry. He is a very welcome addition to our team and we wish him all of the best in his new role.”
