Oxfordshire County Council has appointed GRAHAM to deliver the Didcot to Culham River crossing section of the £323 million Didcot and surrounding areas major infrastructure (HIF1) scheme.
It is the third and final construction contract to be awarded for this scheme where VolerFitzpatrick and AECOM have also landed deals, reports Construction Enquirer.
The Didcot to Culham River Crossing includes a new 3.6km single carriageway road between the A4130 at the existing Collett roundabout junction in Didcot and the A415 at Culham.
It will include a new bridge over the Appleford railway sidings and a new bridge over the River Thames. Segregated walking and cycling facilities will also be provided along the length of the scheme.

“The Didcot to Culham River crossing is a complex project, which is ideally suited to our expertise. It will involve a complete overhaul of the current infrastructure, which is no longer fit for purpose, to deliver vital improvement works that support an enhanced quality of living for residents.”
Enabling works are underway and construction is expected to last approximately two and a half years.
