The Incursions Working Group (IWG) will bring together highways colleagues and supporting suppliers for its Industry Collaboration Event on 17 November 2026, with a shared focus on reducing vehicle incursions and protecting roadworkers.
Taking place at the National Highways Development Centre in Moreton-in-Marsh, the event will explore how shared learning, training and technology can help make the industry safer.
With close to 100 attendees already confirmed, the day will provide an opportunity to exchange experience, see practical safety measures in action and help shape the group’s priorities for 2027.
The programme will bring together learning from regional incursion meetings, approaches to workforce training and live demonstrations supported by suppliers from across the sector. Their involvement will give attendees an opportunity to explore the equipment and technologies available, ask questions and discuss their application in different working environments.
Demonstrations will cover wrong-way detection, rumble strips, work zone location markers and warning systems. Sessions will also explore guidance and equipment for managing determined vehicle incursions, alongside conflict management and incursion training.

Working together will be central to the afternoon programme, with interactive subgroup sessions giving attendees the opportunity to share their experience and contribute to the IWG’s objectives for the year ahead.
The day will also provide an opportunity to review the group’s achievements, identify areas for further work and consider how learning can be shared more widely across the sector.
IWG Chair James Haluch will open the event at 9am and deliver closing remarks and next steps at 3.40pm. A networking lunch will provide further opportunities for discussion with industry colleagues and supporting suppliers.
The IWG thanks the suppliers and contributors supporting the event and helping the industry work towards a shared goal: ensuring roadworkers can carry out their work safely. The IWG extends particular thanks to Highway Resource Solutions (HRS) for sponsoring the event. HRS’s continued support makes it possible to hold the event each year, bringing colleagues together to share learning and strengthen the industry’s approach to roadworker safety.
If you can no longer attend, please email Katie Hopwood at [email protected].
Attendees should bring a hi-vis vest for the external demonstrations. Safety shoes are also recommended.
