ITS (UK) Members invited to speak at Milton Keynes event

Any Member of the UK’s Intelligent Transport Society is being given the opportunity to discuss issues key to them at this year’s Members’ Day at the Connected Places Catapult.

The event, on the 13 October, hosted by the Catapult and sponsored by Clearview Intelligence, Smart Video and Sensing and SWARCO.  These organisations will lead discussions on the latest technical innovations that make travel greener, safer and more efficient, while there will also be a discussion around “putting the clothes back on the Emperor” where people can anonymously challenge established thinking.

The Members’ Open House section allows any member to have around five-to-ten minutes to discuss an issue key to them.  The idea was trialled at last year’s Members’ Day and proved to be very popular both among speakers and the audience, so is being offered again this year.  Members wishing to speak should contact the organisers via email.

The Members’ Day is part of a busy day for ITS (UK) in the city.  In the evening, proceedings move four hundred yards away to the Jury’s Inn Hotel for the ITS (UK) President’s Dinner and Awards.  Ten awards will be handed out in the evening by ITS (UK) President Steve Norris, in the biggest event of its kind for the Society.

To sign up for Members’ Day go here.

Seats for the President’s Dinner and Awards are on offer for £95 per head, with a special price of £85 for every Early Careers professional attending with a full-price paying colleague.  Tables of ten are available for £850, with half tables of five costing £450 (all prices plus VAT).  ITS (UK) has also negotiated a special rate of £105 per night in the Jury’s Inn.  For full details and to book, go here.
