The Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) has today launched phase one of its new Knowledge & Innovation Network, an online platform designed to help local authorities and suppliers access the knowledge, guidance and intelligence they need to navigate an increasingly complex local roads landscape.

Created by listening to its members, the Knowledge & Innovation Network brings together trusted knowledge, practical guidance and sector intelligence in one place, helping members save time, reduce duplication, make better-informed decisions and discover insights they may never have found otherwise.

At the heart of the platform is the Local Authority Navigator. A unique, searchable source of information and intelligence, helping you better understand Local Authorities, operating models, funding opportunities, procurement routes, priorities and the wider local roads landscape.

Whether you’re planning projects, positioning solutions, exploring funding opportunities or trying to understand how individual authorities operate, the Local Authority Navigator gives members fast access to the intelligence that matters.

The launch comes at a time of significant change for Local Authorities, with organisations facing increasing financial pressures, evolving legislation, changing procurement practices, Local Government Reorganisation and the need to deliver more with fewer resources.

At the same time, suppliers are navigating a rapidly changing marketplace, needing a better understanding of Local Authority priorities, funding opportunities and procurement routes in order to develop meaningful partnerships and deliver innovative solutions.

The Knowledge & Innovation Network has been developed to support both. For Local Authorities, it provides quick access to trusted guidance, helping reduce duplication, save valuable time and support evidence-based decision-making.

Kerry Winstanley, Managing Director of LCRIG, said:

“Every day, Local Authorities and suppliers are making important decisions that affect our local roads network. Yet finding the right information can often be time-consuming and fragmented. We created the Knowledge & Innovation Network to change that.

“By creating a central place to share sector knowledge, practical guidance and actionable intelligence, we’re making it easier for our members to find the information they need, when they need it. Whether you’re looking for guidance on Local Government Reorganisation, funding, procurement, operating models or practical resources to support service delivery, the Knowledge & Innovation Network has been designed to become a
trusted companion for everyone working across the local roads sector.”
