National Highways has tweeted footage of a vehicle which drove through a stretch of roadworks on the A12 in Essex, only to turn around and drive against the traffic.
In the clip, a black SUV enters the work site near Brentwood, before turning around and driving in the wrong direction.
This follows footage of a woman moving cones to try to get out of a queue in another set of roadworks on the A12 further north in Essex.
The 66-year-old from south London was issued with a conditional caution. She was also fined £100, with the money going to a road worker safety charity.
National Highways is worried about the dramatic increase in the number of roadwork incursions.
Dangerous driving puts our road workers at risk. In this clip a black SUV enters our work site, before turning around & driving in the wrong direction. We want everyone who works with us & everyone who travels on our roads to get #HomeSafeAndWell.
